The latest iteration of Tesla's charging bays has been launched in Malaysia

Tesla has revealed the debut of its inaugural V4 Supercharging station in Southeast Asia, simultaneously launching at two locations in Malaysia: IOI City Mall and IOI Mall Puchong.

The stations boast a total of eight V4 Superchargers and two Destination Chargers, marking a significant step forward in Tesla's infrastructure expansion in the region.

Here are some upgrades that make the V4 Supercharging station better:

The Tesla V4 Superchargers feature longer cables, ensuring convenient access for all Tesla electric vehicles.

These V4 Superchargers currently offer peak rates of up to 250kW per vehicle. For instance, the Model 3 Long Range model can recharge up to 282km in just 15 minutes. Moreover, the V4 Superchargers are designed to be future-proofed, allowing for updates and the integration of new features as they become available.

The Tesla Supercharger network offers a significant advantage in charging convenience. Tesla drivers can effortlessly 'Plug and Charge' without needing an app or payment cards. Instead, the EV charging sessions are seamlessly billed directly to the saved payment card in the driver's Tesla account, streamlining the charging process for a hassle-free experience.

These two new Superchargers bring Tesla's total number of Supercharging stalls in Malaysia to 48

Tesla has launched 10 Supercharging stations, comprising 48 Supercharging stalls, and 11 Destination Charger stations equipped with 57 chargers across Malaysia.

As part of its commitment under the Battery Electric Vehicle Global Program in collaboration with the International Trade and Industry Ministry, Tesla is required to deploy 50 Superchargers by 2026. Notably, 15% of these Superchargers must be accessible to all-electric vehicles, aligning with efforts to promote broader EV adoption and infrastructure accessibility.
